This issue of Me and My Friends features the essay What's in a Voice by Slovenian philosopher, cultural theorist and film critic Mladen Dolar. In What's in a Voice, Dolar discusses the socio-cultural implications of the voice, both in oral communication and as a symbolic expression of agency. The text was originally presented as a lecture on November 14, 2008, in conjunction with the exhibition Mother's Day by Smadar Dreyfus at Extra City gallery in Antwerp, Belgium.
